By the beach, Orange County homebuying went flat in 2017

Homebuying in Orange Region coastline communities climbed 0.6 percent in 2015.

Inning accordance with CoreLogic information, in 16 beach-close ZIP codes sales totaled 6,143 for all of 2017 vs. 6,109 a year earlier. Sales rose in 10 of the 16 beachfront ZIPs while rates rose in 13 of the beach areas.

Countywide, the 2017 mean was $685,000, up 6.2 percent in a year with 38,351 sales, up 1.3 percent. By geographic slice, sales in southern Orange County climbed 4.7 percent in 2014; up 0.4 percent in main area; and dropped 2.2 percent in north Orange Area.
